Historically, it was the English who first started regulating real estate ownership with their old feudal land system. During the middle ages, land was the only form of wealth. Although there were no formal laws or regulating or governing bodies over land possession, their rules were simple, defend and protect your land, or fight for the land you want. Eventually, real estate laws were formulated in Englad, and later on imported to USA, Canada, and the other countries they colonized.
